It really can vary depending on texture, condition of your hair, length, thickness, and lifestyle. There is not one "cookie cutter" answer for each type of hair to achieve the best result possible. This is why I always insist on a complimentary consultation beforehand. It is well worth the time for both of us.
Hair should be at least 6 inches in length from the scalp all the way around the head. Thicker hair or "wedge" type cuts may need to be longer.
It is my number 1 priority to maintain the health and integrity of the client's own hair. It depends on many factors such as the condition of your hair to begin with, the compatibility of the method with your type of hair, and proper maintenance/care. This is another reason why I insist on a consultation to make sure you are a good candidate for hair extensions. If I think your hair will be damaged, I won't recommend the extensions. I also utilize Keratin and OlaPlex treatments to help improve the clients own hair.
The hair will last at least 6 months on permanent attach methods such as sew in's and tape in's. Halo and clip in's last at least a year wearing them daily and much longer if wearing only occasionally. Of course, proper maintenance and care is a must.
I match every hair extension personally and utilize several colors if need be to insure a perfect match to your own hair. You should come to the consultation with your own hair the color you prefer. You can schedule a color appointment first and then we can match your hair.
It is usually pretty simple to wash and dry your hair. However, since you have more hair, it will probably take a little longer than before. I give everyone a detailed Maintenance Care sheet and go over the simplest ways to take care of the extensions. It does vary from type of hair, attachment, and style you wish to wear.
I attach hair extensions using a Sew in Invis-Link method which is flat and undetectable. I also do tape in hair extensions. There are detailed photos and explanations on the Methods page of my website. I also make removable hair extensions such as HairWire Halo and clip ins. I do not offer any individual bonding or link methods as I feel they are too damaging for most people.
This is determined at your complimentary consultation. I have no way of knowing without seeing you and your hair, finding out your expectations, and determining if it's compatible with your lifestyle.
Please go to my Methods page for detailed descriptions and photos.
I never recommend any permanent attach extensions if your hair is currently falling out. It will only exacerbate the problem. The safest method for people losing their hair is a removable HairWire Halo extension.
Pricing varies depending on type of extension, how much hair is needed, how many colors, length, etc. This is all determined at the consultation. There is no obligation.
Most people do not have issues with discomfort or irritability. However, if you have a sensitive scalp, you might get some irritation with the sew in method. The Halo's can be a little itchy at first. If you have a serious scalp condition such as psoriasis, you may not be a good candidate for permanent attached hair extensions.
It is not recommended to lighten hair extensions as they already have been colored or lightly processed. This is why I want the client to have their own hair the color they want so I can match the hair to that. You can change to a darker color or add lowlights.
Yes, as I can't test every hair product out there. Hair extensions generally need to have verymoisturizing products that don't "gunk" up the hair. This is all detailed on your Maintenance Care sheet.
Basically, the hair has to be removed entirely, and re-attached closer to the scalp like when you first had them put in. How often depends on the type of extensions you have, the texture of your own hair, and how fast it grows. Sew in hair extensions require maintenance every 5-7 weeks. Tape in's need maintenance every 6-9 weeks.
Hair is a personal item and cannot be exchanged or returned due to the health code. Since the extensions I offer are custom made, one a deposit is placed you can't change your mind, etc. Though rare, if there are any issues with the hair, I will gladly replace it as long as the correct products are used and regular maintenance appointments are kept.
Cash, Checks, or Quickpay with Zelle (most banks have) on deposits for hair only. No credit cards.
No, but an appointment is always necessary. Consultations are complimentary.
