I went to Catherine in dire need of a miracle. My hair was severely damaged from too many highlights ( and hormones) and the breakage had left my hair looking wispy, jagged and thin. I didn't think much could be done so had nearly resigned myself to a bad hair year. A friend suggested extensions and I went to see Catherine after reading great reviews about her work on Yelp. From the start, she was so warm and encouraging. She found hair that perfectly matched mine in color, density, thickness (blond, thin and fine) and created a beautiful halo that looked natural. I feel like me again! I was a little worried that I'd be able to pull it off (I am relatively low maintenance) but Catherine worked with my patiently to answer all my questions and to make sure I was happy with the way it looked. Brilliant work that even this beauty novice can pull off with confidence. Even boyfriend and mother can't tell the difference.

Excellent. My already thin hair was very damaged by extensions and other issues over the last two years. Catherine sat with me and came up with the solution - the halo extension piece. She matched it to my hair perfectly, followed up afterwards for further styling as we were being careful not to cut too much off at first, showed me how to blend it in, and answered all questions I had. She calmed my nervousness down regarding my hair change. Due to the times, I haven't seen too many people, but the ones who have seen it think it is amazing. I would absolutely recommend to anyone. She tells you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear, and doesn't try and sell you anything just for the sake of it. I trust her and will continue to use her whatever my hair needs will be in the future.

All hail the Hair Extension Queen of NYC! I had been wanting extensions again for a while. It had been ten years since I had them last and I was a little bit traumatized by the experience of getting them out, as it had left my hair horribly broken and damaged. That said, they were done with synthetic hair. Real hair makes all the difference with the extent of damage to your own hair. Catherine only uses high quality hair and is an expert with weft extensions (in the past, I had pinch braid style). She works out of Uliana Hair Studio these days, a lovely salon in the East Village (I reviewed it separately). You go in for a consultation and discuss options, which include tape, sew-in or halo (non permanent). I went for sew-in as I wanted something semi permanent. My wedding was several months away and I wanted to get used to this hair thing before then. If you choose this method, you need to go in and get it maintained every 4-6 weeks to keep it looking good. The hair is so seamlessly blended with your own that you will forget that you don't actually have that perfect, thick long hair! It's so natural that you'll get more of the, "wow, your hair has grown so long" types of compliments. When I'd tell people that they were extensions, they couldn't believe it. Man, I wish my hair was this thick and healthy! I've had thin, lousy hair since I was like 11. Years of dying, flat ironing and blow drying hasn't done it any favors either. Prices are extremely fair in comparison to other salons, not only in NYC but across the country. Yes, this is an investment, but you pay for quality. It was worth it.I decided after my wedding that the sew-ins and the necessary maintenance weren't for me anymore. Catherine made my 2 wefts into a halo that I wear occasionally (OK, rarely. I've been digging the easiness of my shoulder length hair, especially in winter when long hair keeps getting caught in coats and scarves). Note that my hair was not really damaged at all after having the extensions in for 7 months. Incredible. Catherine is awesome. I appreciated that she was willing to work with me and what I needed as far as the length and thickness of the extensions (initially they were a bit too "much" for me, so she shaped them up and thinned them out a bit). I enjoyed talking to her and getting to know her on each of my visits. Oh and she is also great when it comes to dying your hair!

I never write reviews but had to when it came to Catherine, who is truly the absolute best and just magical! I wanted to try Hair Extensions for my upcoming wedding and reached out to a number of salons. Catherine returned my message immediately to set up a free consultation. She accommodated my crazy work schedule by arranging a special appointment after hours, explained everything in great detail and put me at ease. I followed up this week and had the microbead extensions placed and I am truly obsessed! My hair looks absolutely gorgeous and her ability to match your natural hair is incredible. No one can tell they are extensions and everyone I have shared this with are completely blown away when they find out! I can't wait for my next appointment the week before my wedding! (Which she again accommodated me and changed to help with my pre wedding anxiety!) Absolutely recommend. I am skeptical of "5 star reviews" but hers are real! She is amazing.
